End of July Statement Required Spam Malware
I have been receiving dozens of poorly thought out spam emails over the past few days, telling me that an end of July statement is required. It’s so obviously a scam and the attached zip file no doubt houses malware, or a piece of phishing software. Surely nobody would be fooled by this too clicking on the attachment?
The email’s subject line is Re: FW: End of July Statement REquired!
From HONG MEYER [BrianKostal@mcsnet.ca]
Attachment: Inv_08.30.2011_G60594.zip (31 KB)
The message reads:
Good day,
As requested I give you Invoices issuedto you per Aug.
Regards
HONG MEYER
The message doesn’t tie in with the End of July Statement Required subject and the brain that thought this one up doesn’t write in clear English - or check his spacing before peddling his scam - and who the hell is Hong Meyer anyway?
I have been ignoring this for weeks, but I thought I’d write a quick blog on it, as I’m sure there are some people checking to see if this is genuine - but it isn’t! Don’t click on the zip file, simply delete and move on with your day.
If you receive an End of July Statement required spam email from Hong Mayer, or similar, drop us a quick comment to warn others about it. Thanks.

Having investigated, all of these sites are also scam sites. Don’t deal with these people, they are complete scammers!
