Conflicker.B Infection Alert Malware spam
The Conflicker.B Infection Alert is doing the rounds again. The virus warning email comes with the Subject line: Conflicker.B Infection Alert and the sender is cloaked to look as if it is coming from Microsoft Support, which ofcoures it isn’t; Microsoft Support don’t send out virus or infection warnings!
The email reads:
Dear Microsoft Customer,
Starting 12/11/2009 the ‘Conficker’ worm began infecting Microsoft customers unusually rapidly. Microsoft has been advised by your Internet provider that your network is infected.
To counteract further spread we advise removing the infection using an antispyware program. We are supplying all effected Windows Users with a free system scan in order to clean any files infected by the virus.
Please install attached file to start the scan. The process takes under a minute and will prevent your files from being compromised. We appreciate your prompt cooperation.

It has an attachment - a zip file which the email prompts you to open. The zip file in my Conflicker.B Infection Alert email was 3YMH6JJY.zip, although yours may be different.
Don’t open the zip file
If you receive a Conflicker.B Infection Alert malware spam email - don’t open the zip file. Don’t even click on it. Delete it from your computer straight away.
I hope the twats that send these malware emails out catch cancer and die!

Just received 2 emails addressed to me with the same wording as your info above. The attachment is named Open.zip and is 7 KB. The first came in at 12:02 AM and the 2nd at 5:03 AM.

Just received 3 emails addressed to me with the same wording as your info above. The attachment is named Open.zip and is 6 KB. The first came in at 20100220, 0135hrs. and the 2nd at 1028hrs., 3rd. at 20100221, 1323hrs.
the sender was my same address…

Just received the email exactly as worded above with zip file. I did not open it and began to investigate it immediately.
