Within an RSS feed sheet, there are a number of tags that give information about the people writing the RSS feed. These tags can include copyright information, description, a link-able image and a contact email address. Instant Messenger plug-ins for IM programs such as Trillian allow feed sheets to be read and pop up when a new message is found.

If none of these options are good enough, then perhaps code-junkies may be comfortable in reading the unparsed RSS feed sheet also known as reading between the tags. This may be a quick fix for small RSS feed sheets, but for a larger RSS sheets, this is not an ideal process.
