There are two reasons why Flash design is not more popular with website owners. The most compelling reason is that Search Engines cannot read flash. It also means that any text that is written in Flash cannot be read by the spiders, as Flash text is a graphic, so again, a high ranking in the search engines is unlikely. The second issue with integrating Flash into a web design, is that it is a job for a Flash specialist and it is usual, in the industry, for Flash design work to cost two to three times the average cost of HTML design work.
